Fremont

Fremont County’s adult smoking and vaping rates were higher than in most counties. WYSAC calculated these values using a data file formed by combining answers to the 2019 and 2021 ATS.

Its high school smoking and vaping rates were higher than in most counties. These estimates are from the 2022 PNA. Users should be cautious when comparing 2022 PNA results for high school students in Fremont County to past years because Lander Valley High School did not participate in 2022. Other estimates are available at Wyoming Prevention Needs Assessment.

Most adults supported tobacco-free schools and smokefree indoor air laws for workplaces and restaurants. Just over half of adults supported a smokefree indoor air law for bars. Just over half of adults supported a cigarette tax increase. These data are also from a data file with combined 2019 and 2021 ATS responses.

Fremont County includes the most populated areas of the Wind River Indian Reservation, but WYSAC does not sample specifically for data about traditional or non-traditional tobacco use for the American Indian population.
