- Education
- Energy and environment
- Mapping (GIS)
- Mental health
- Outdoor recreation
- Public health
- School-community collaborations
- Substance abuse
CHES evaluators are active in the American Evaluation Association, and CHES evaluations have been recognized as exemplary by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
CHES also assisted WYSAC’s Survey Research Center with a study of federal recreational lands that was nominated by the U.S. Department of the Interior for the 2008 Policy Impact Award

Some Current Projects
Evaluating Wyoming’s Tobacco Prevention and Control Program. WYSAC has served as the independent evaluator on this large and multi-layered project since 2001. CHES conducts
evaluations at the local, regional, and state levels, and teams with other WYSAC departments on the Wyoming Adult Tobacco Survey and a web-based interactive data tool that allows easy
retrieval of tobacco-related data for Wyoming.
Evaluating the 21st Century Community Learning Centers in Wyoming. CHES has developed online data collection tools that streamline the process by which Wyoming teachers report on
student outcomes for our evaluation of this federally funded program.
Pilot Study on the Impact of Wyoming’s Hathaway Scholarship Program. In collaboration with WYSAC’s Survey Research Center, CHES is assessing the impact of this innovative
program on the educational, career, and residential choices of Wyoming high school graduates.
